You can use your rake for a lot of things:
-Removing swirl marks after VLM cleaning << customers HATE swirl marks, so use a rake to “groom” the carpet to an even “finish”
-Spreading protector into the carpet fibers for a nice, even coat
-You can even use a carpet rake before you vacuum to loosen up hair, soil, and other “stuff.” It will make your vacuuming more effective

What am I talking about?

Raking the carpet.

Now… a lot of people get confused when I say “you’ve gotta rake the carpet” but stick with me!

Go buy this under $50 tool called the Grandi Groom carpet rake.

The Grandi Groom is a wood handled tool with a plastic rake head on the bottom. The head has nylon bristles you can use to “groom” the carpet after you’ve finished cleaning.

Why would you groom or rake the carpet?

Because VLM carpet cleaning leaves a lot of swirl marks on the carpet. Just look at this:

If you want to leave your customers angry and upset that they hired you, then leave your carpets looking just like that and walk out the door.

“Good luck with the swirls! I’m sure they’ll come out with regular vacuuming. BYE” << Don’t be that cleaner. You’re better than that.

After you buff the carpet to your professional satisfaction, removing all the soil & stains your customers hated, whip out your Grandi Groom carpet rake.

Begin raking the carpet on the far side of the house and work your way out the front door. Rake all your foot steps out of the carpet. Rake everything into a nice smooth pattern like this:
